SATISFYING MID APRIL WEEKEND

by

Saturday I arrived at club to find the K13,s DI’d and ready to go. Briefing and straight into flying launching into a light northerly and the sky looking good. Lots of check flights and early training to be done and Bob’s pasties to be eaten. The sky improved and Steve eventually got away in his K8 for nearly two hours. Promising. Bob gave  some good flights to his P2′s and I think we did good work overall. Eddie also gave his son a great flight in the K13. At end of play Bob brought his Faulke out and I enjoyed a flight over Deal, Dover castle and out over the port in beautiful clear evening skies with Bob. Cheers.

Sunday Bob was in charge, I had family matters to attend. Steve Potter gave a good shot at his Silver duration but the sky only allowed two hours or so, keep going Steve the club needs you ! O and another new member joined ! Simon hurt his foot staggering around on a tyre or something.

Lets keep this momentum going folks and well done every one.

Yes, learning to fly a glider is an experience everyone should have a go at, and Saturday was a another great day for me…if only I could remember to haul the nose up to a ridiculous angle on takeoff….!
Flying with Bob was a pleasure as usual, I would have liked to have stayed up some more but because I had to pay for The Flying Pastie’s flight I had to literally force the glider into a descent to cut costs! I then had to listen to him droning on about his 33 minute flight, all the way back to the Memorial…but don’t worry, we’ll be back next weekend and this time….

I was tinkering with the winch when I was tripped up by a discarded tyre!!!
I wanna know whos in charge of ‘elf an safety!!
